Bookworms Arise Book-club created by founder Ms. Omolola Odunowo on the 16th of October, 2017 had on the 25th of November, 2017 gathered for its first ever book-club meetup held at our founders home.
At the time, the Book-club was only accessible to residents of Ikeja, Agege, Ifako and Berger axis of Lagos, Nigeria. Ms. Omolola who was a member of a book-club at Surulere some months prior to Bookworms Arise book-clubs founding, found it difficult to attend meetups as a result of distance. Consequently, she had no choice but to break away from the former book-club in a bid to search out book-clubs around her own area where she could be more efficient. After more than two months of searching to no avail, Ms. Omolola thought up the idea to start one in her area.
The book-clubs first ever book read of the month was “The Concubine” written by Elechi Amadi with a total of 6 members out of the 12 already registered book-club members.
