CROSSING BORDERS

“Let us believe” they say

 I am tired of believing

Opening up myself to deceitful leaders

Who care less if we return alive or rot trying to escape

My father and motherland have nothing for me

I have to journey to where I can be my own person

Say what I want to say

Judge who I want to judge

Without hearing those words “Let us believe”

If I hear those words one more time

I swear I shall

Do I deem dreadful enough to whoever crosses my path

I am this kind of person

But of course, I will hide it well

I should tell you, but I won’t
